Executive Pastry Chef
Michael Martins

As an award-winning Pastry Chef, Michael Martins coordinates and manages all things sweet at A Legendary Event. From specialty cakes for birthdays, weddings and anniversaries to decadent truffles, mini sweets, pies and petit fours, Michael’s creations are always a sweet surprise at our events.

In fact, Michael has been called on by many of our clients to create one-of-a-kind specialty desserts... Praline Chocolate Crunch Bar with a chocolate dragonfly and creme anglaise,

Individual Baked Alaskas with Cherries Jubilee, Chocolate Popcorn buckets with white chocolate orange popcorn, and athree-foot tall chocolate chef sculpture are just a few of his dishes that guests are still raving about.  The best part of Michael’s work is that it is even more delicious than it is breathtaking.

Michael was invited to cook at the prestigious James Beard House in 2000.  He prepared fruit sushi, a sesame tuile with coconut sticky rice sushi, blood orange sauce garnished with chocolate chop sticks.

In 1997, Michael created his nationally award-winning Mudslide Pie, which won a prestigious contest by Oreo Cookies for the best recipe that uses Oreos. Inspired by the Mudslide drink, the Mudslide Pie combines Oreos, Kahlua, Bailey’s and milk chocolate.

Martins leads our team with more than 20 years of culinary experience.  Prior to joining A Legendary Event’s culinary team, Michael worked as the pastry chef for the Five Diamond Le Maire restaurant located in the Five Diamond Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia; Miami’s Sonesta Beach Resort, the Five Diamond Westin Resort located in Hilton Head; and The Coach & Six Restaurant in Atlanta. He has won numerous awards from the American Culinary Foundation, including two gold medals, two silver medals, a Best in Show award and an honor for Most Original Display.

And what does our celebrated pastry chef prefer for dessert... Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream!
